Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 1: Dragonstone

“DRAGONSTONE” felt very much like exactly what it was: the beginning of the end. The pieces are moving, the old plot threads are coming home to roost.

Overall, I liked this episode. I did. It set up the remaining six episodes of the season, it had some memorable scenes, and generally moved pretty smoothly.

Here’s what I really liked.

Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 2: “Home”

Fun fact: today, it’s two weeks until my birthday! I’ll be turning 23. Which means I am only three years older than A Game of Thrones. The series has been out for nearly 20 years – 20 years this August, in fact.

Tonight was a pretty big night in that 20-year-run.

King Broken-Smile: Theon’s Path to the Seastone Chair – Part 1: The Anti-Euron Conspiracy

In this long, long essay, I’m going to break down how I think Theon will end up sitting the Seastone Chair by the end of ASOIAF. In Part 1, I’ll look at the state of affairs on the Iron Islands, and examine the potential conspiracy brewing on Great Wyk. In Part 2, we’ll swing over to the mainland and look at where Theon is now and who would want him on the Seastone Chair. If I somehow make it to part 3, I’ll outline specifically how I think the chapters in TWOW will play out, and how they’ll line up with other plotlines in terms of theme and pace.

Game of Thrones Season 5: Adapting our Predictions

The new trailer for Game of Thrones season 5 has leaked following the IMAX release of S04E09 and S04E10, and boy howdy has the discussion hit all new highs and lows. I’m not going to talk specifically about the trailer; that speaks for itself, I think, and there are plenty of other people doing that. I am going to talk about what I think is going to be in season 5, and what I think is not. I will also get off topic. Fair warning.

(Feels obvious, but I should say: this is all my opinion, feel free to disagree. Now that I’ve said that once, I don’t have to put it before every single sentence in the piece).
